Prevention and Holistic Support in Gender Violence and Sexual Abuse with a
Trauma-Informed Perspective

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT?
Survivors of gender-based and sexual abuse frequently experience psychosocial impacts that extend beyond emotional distress. These may include disruptions in their sense of safety, trust, and belonging, as well as changes in how they perceive their own identity, worth, and agency. Many survivors describe feeling disconnected from their bodies, emotions, or inner sense of self—not as a sign of weakness, but as an adaptive response to overwhelming experiences. Over time, this disconnection can affect relationships, participation in community life, and overall wellbeing.
These spaces are trauma-informed wellness and healing experiences designed to support survivors of gender-based and sexual abuse in reconnecting with their sense of self, safety, and inner resources. Rather than focusing solely on trauma symptoms, the program creates a safe, empowering space where survivors can remember who they are beyond what they have experienced, remembering their own resources to take care of themselves.
Survivors are normally supported through services oriented toward crisis response, legal protection, or clinical treatment of trauma-related symptoms. In a long term, they can also be supported through talk therapy, but there are parts of our story that our mind will never understand, and trauma is not only in the mind but stored in the body. There are fewer opportunities for survivors to engage in holistic, non-clinical healing spaces that support long-term wellbeing, identity restoration, and reconnection with inner strengths and resources. To contribute to a sustainable and integral healing, we need to integrate techniques that allows the women to move through the trauma stored in the body, focusing on the fullness of who they are, in a loving, safe and respectful way, which is also healing by itself. They are not their story, they are so much more than that, and this program focuses in accompany women to remember and integrating all those parts of themselves.
OBJETIVES AND BENEFITS
My programs and experiences focused on Prevention and Holistic Acompaniment focuse in creating a safe, loving and trauma-sensitive space for women survivors of gender violence and sexual abuse, focused on the comprehensive recovery of emotional, physical and psychosocial well-being, promoting reconnection with feminine identity, self-esteem, autonomy and sovereignty.
Some benefits that the particiants and the organization can integrate are:
-
To have a physically and emotionally safe space where survivors can engage in healing practices at their own pace and with full consent.
-
To develop skills for nervous system regulation and grounding that enhance daily wellbeing.
-
To remember reconnection with personal identity, values, and strengths beyond experiences of abuse.
-
To remember and explore tools to reconnect with their bodies and pleasure, to build a loving and respectulful relationship with themselves.
-
To have a safe space to explore their resources, cycles, rythms, needs, emotions, and validate and attend them.
-
To access non-verbal and creative avenues for expression that do not require trauma disclosure.
-
To integrate a sense of belonging and peer connection while respecting individual boundaries.
MY METHODOLOGY
TRAUMA-INFORMED PERSPECTIVE
-
Safe spaces - only proposals and invitations.
-
Learning to validate and listen to our needs.
-
No judgment, expectations, or advice.
-
Learning to regulate and respect our own limits, exploring our rhythms and intensity.
FLEXIBLE & ADAPTABLE
-
Combination of different tools adapted to the needs.
-
Examples: meditation, visualization, somatic movement, breath work, dance, journaling, yin yoga and more.
IN COMMUNITY
-
We need the support of the community. We are social beings and need from each other to live.
-
Asking and receiving help and support is not a weakness, but a strength.
-
Together it is easier to remember, validate ourselves, and heal.
FEMININE PERSPECTIVE
-
Remembering our cyclical nature, intuition, creativity, playfulness and sovereignty of our bodies.
-
Re-signifying what is associated with the feminine as a form of activism, revolution, empowerment, healing and transformation.
EXPERIENTIAL APPROACH
-
Everyone has inner wisdom and knowlegde.
-
I don´t have the answers or the “Truth”. I facilitate tools and practices to remember our own truth.
-
We can validate what we can experience and observe for ourselves.
HOLISTIC AND INTEGRAL
-
We are body, mind, emotions, and energy, and these are not separate. We just separate them in order to survive.
-
This is a proposal to integrate all these parts of ourselves and live from a place of wholeness.
MODALITIES
Every organization, team and movement is different. That´s why I create proposals tailored to the needs, interests and resources of each organization. I´m based in Madrid (Spain) & Nairobi (Kenya) for in person options, available online worldwide, and open to travel internationally for in-person projects, workshops and collaborations.
These are some examples of what it could be interesting to your organization:
-
12- or 16-week program of group or individual sessions/workshops, held virtually or in person (if possible). Groups of 10 to 15 people.
-
Hybrid format: virtual sessions + 1 in-person retreat
-
In-person retreats on specific topics
-
Independent workshops with different themes, held virtually or in-person.
-
One-day event/retreat
I would really love to hear form you and know more about your project and what could serve to your team and purpose.
